9

Kason is officially 9 months old.  I have thought about this particular month ever since Kason was born.  From the time Kason was an infant I knew that MAY was going to be a very special and important month.  May would be the month that Kason would get to meet his UNCLE HAYDEN!  Hayden has been in Guatemala for the last two years serving a mission.  Hayden will be home in 8 days and I am so excited to see him and for Kason to finally meet his uncle.

9 months seems special to me for another reason too.  Kason has now been in our little family as long as he was in my belly.  I had a great pregnancy and thought it went pretty fast, but these last 9 months have FLOWN!  Seriously the fastest nine moths ever and soon that year mark is going to hit and I am going to ask where the last year went!??

Kason brings so much joy into our life.  In my last post I talked about how grateful I am to be his mother and how blessed I feel.  He is so much fun as he gets a stronger personality all the time...which I have to say is simply delightful.  He is just mellow and happy.  He has loved his swimming lessons this past month and has no fear about going under the water.  He is cruising everywhere now.  He might be a little squirt, but that is to his advantage when he wants to get somewhere!  He had his 9 month appointment weighing a wopping 15 lb 14 oz, 1 percentile for his weight.  Maybe Dad cursed him when he started to call him Pee Wee in his first few days of birth.  We are going to work on fattening him up...which shouldn't be a problem since he wants to eat EVERYTHING he sees.  He is also jabbering all the time and I absolutely love his little voice.

Kason still goes with me to Crossfit...there is no kid care, so he just sits in his infant seat and enjoys the action around him.  It does help that everyone wants to play with him.  Brad is one of the trainers and he is probably giving Kason some tips on becoming a crossfitter!
Kason LOVES this dog lately.  He gets so excited when I hold him up and he likes to nibble on the dog's nose.  My good friend Adie gave him this little pup.
Just chillin' at Down East Home.  He is a good little shopping buddy.
Last week he decided to see what the walls tasted like. mmm paint chips!  He was licking the wall, crawled away, then came back for seconds?? Weirdo!
Grammy and Papa got to come see us for a quick visit.  It was great to have some time with them.

Blessed

Lately I have been feeling a big mix of emotions; I think the timing of Mother's Day played a part in these feelings.  Mother's Day morning I was overwhelmed with feelings of joy, happiness, and gratitude as Josh came into our room with my happy smiling boy.  They were standing by my bedside wishing me a happy mothers day with a hot veggie and ham omelet and fresh fruit (my kind of breakfast).  As Josh left the room to go feed Kason...I followed behind them to join them for breakfast. I wanted to have breakfast with my boys, not eat by myself in bed!

Josh is VERY busy with working and getting his MBA, yet he still makes spending time with Kason and I a priority.  I am soooooooooo grateful that I get to be home with Kason.  I am equally grateful that me being home with Kason is equally important to Josh.  It is hard to express how blessed I feel to have Kason in our lives.  Although being a mamma brings about new challenges and is a 24/7 responsibility, I embrace these challenges and the responsibility.  Every challenge and responsibility is WORTH IT.  My mom and dad always said that you won't understand the love of a parent until you are one.  This is so true.

Even though I absolutely love the age Kason is right now, I am a little sad that he is growing to fast.  Kason is so much fun right now.  These are the words I would use to describe him: curious, excited, smiley, personality, focused, cuddly, determined, mellow, happy, crawler, water baby, smart, and of course adorable. He is going to be 9 months this week, which is hard for me to believe.

I just try my hardest each and every day to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Laugh when Kason spits food all over making us late to the gym (we will still get there). Take advantage of an extra snuggle and kiss when he poops 2 minutes after I put him down for a nap (he will go right to sleep after a diaper change, kiss and squeeze).  Put off dinner and laundry a little longer to play (we will eat and we will have clean clothes...eventually).  I don't wanna look back on this time and regret not living in the moment and soaking up all the love, joy and happiness that my baby boy has to offer!

First official Mother's Day! One happy Mamma!

Can't get enough of this boy

Went to visit my friend Kristy and her baby girl, and this kept Kase entertained!

Peek-a-boo

This boy LOVES his "taggy" ran upstairs to grab something and when I came back down he was just cuddling with his taggy

At Lily and Lauren's soccer games

Just playing with his toys like a big boy

This little green froggy finger puppet is his new FAVORITE toy.  He digs it out of his toy basket and crawls around with it like it is his BFF! Hilarious!

H20

I was so excited to take Kason to his first swimming lesson. Eager to see if he liked the pool as much as he enjoys his nightly bath...he LOVED it!

Old School

We had some fun on a Sunday afternoon snapping some pics of Kason in these little Osh Kosh overalls; Cheryl had saved these from when Josh was a baby.  So Kase is sportin' his daddy's old school vintage threads!

six month pix

(this post is a little late...my blog was having some technical difficulties)

I had not thought much about getting pictures taken of Kason at 6 months. My Mom asked me if I was going to have them done...Once she put that little plug in my head I thought I better get some pics of my quickly growing boy. I am so glad I did. The day Kase got his pictures done it was a bit windy and he was very curious about all of his surroundings. With all that was going on around him he wasn't nearly as smiley as he usually is. He turned into Mr. Serious. The pictures turned out great and I am so glad I had them done, especially all his little baby features before he grows up too fast!

Enjoy!

Easter

We spent Easter with my family in Boise. It was good to see everyone. We had our annual Easter brunch at the Country Club with Grams and Gramps after church. It was a beautiful day. I loved Kason in is "little man" Easter outfit that Grammy Richards got for him!

Feels like I just posted about Kase turning seven months. I love this kid more every single day. Just when I think it isn't possible to love my baby boy any more...I DO.

I know I am biased as his mother that I think her is adorable, but I think what makes him even cuter is his little mellow, chill, content, quirky personality. I just love spending time with him. I love the one on one time I have with him. Which is why I always say I would like to have a bigger gap between baby 1 and baby two. In a selfish way I want to take full advantage of having and "only child" for a little while...

Over the last month Kase started to crawl. He's still a bit rusty but I am sure her will get it perfected soon enough and be crawling all over the place! My mom put a perfect description to the video I sent to her... "He looks like a baby lamb trying to figure out his legs for the first time." That is pretty much spot on.

He continues to get more of a personality all the time and is always making us laugh with all his silly facial expressions. He thinks it is hilarious to get scared and is sooooo ticklish. He becomes more curious all the time, and I am sure this is just the beginning as he starts to crawl more I am sure he will be into everything!
