six month pix

(this post is a little late...my blog was having some technical difficulties)

I had not thought much about getting pictures taken of Kason at 6 months. My Mom asked me if I was going to have them done...Once she put that little plug in my head I thought I better get some pics of my quickly growing boy. I am so glad I did. The day Kase got his pictures done it was a bit windy and he was very curious about all of his surroundings. With all that was going on around him he wasn't nearly as smiley as he usually is. He turned into Mr. Serious. The pictures turned out great and I am so glad I had them done, especially all his little baby features before he grows up too fast!

Enjoy!

Easter

We spent Easter with my family in Boise. It was good to see everyone. We had our annual Easter brunch at the Country Club with Grams and Gramps after church. It was a beautiful day. I loved Kason in is "little man" Easter outfit that Grammy Richards got for him!

Feels like I just posted about Kase turning seven months. I love this kid more every single day. Just when I think it isn't possible to love my baby boy any more...I DO.

I know I am biased as his mother that I think her is adorable, but I think what makes him even cuter is his little mellow, chill, content, quirky personality. I just love spending time with him. I love the one on one time I have with him. Which is why I always say I would like to have a bigger gap between baby 1 and baby two. In a selfish way I want to take full advantage of having and "only child" for a little while...

Over the last month Kase started to crawl. He's still a bit rusty but I am sure her will get it perfected soon enough and be crawling all over the place! My mom put a perfect description to the video I sent to her... "He looks like a baby lamb trying to figure out his legs for the first time." That is pretty much spot on.

He continues to get more of a personality all the time and is always making us laugh with all his silly facial expressions. He thinks it is hilarious to get scared and is sooooo ticklish. He becomes more curious all the time, and I am sure this is just the beginning as he starts to crawl more I am sure he will be into everything!

Lately...

It is quite entertaining the moves this kid pulls during his naps or nighttime slumbers! He always seems to move around more when he is not in his own crib. He started this nap at the other end of the pack n play laying vertical not horizontal.

This kid is such a good sleeper I could care less how he sleeps!

We got to go visit Sar and Greg and their adorable girls recently! Hallie was just about a week old. Kam is such a sweet big sis. Little Miss Hallie made Kason look like a big boy.

Kason LOVES to eat...He occasionally has a slight panic attack when his food is gone.

Another recent first...Kason is able to sit in shopping carts and in high chairs at restaurants. Now that he can sit in the high chairs at restaurants, we have a little guy who wants to grab and eat whatever is in his line of sight, as well as beg for the food we are eating.

Love that he loves to snuggle!

Sitting up like a BIG BOY!

Working on his "crawling moves," aka plank holds. These plank holds turn into nose dives as he lunges himself forward in an effort to move toward his designated target! My baby is going to be crawling soon; not quite sure if I'm ready for it.

This is what he is obviously working toward!

Seven Months

Our little Kase man turned 7 months! I am pretty sure each post I say how fast the time goes...well is really does fly by! I would still say Kason is pretty small, but between months 6 and 7 I have seen some more chub on him...and I LOVE IT! He needs to get all squishy and rolly polly before swimsuit season, seriously! (side thought: why is it the opposite for adults, ugh!)

Some of my favorite things over the last month have been:
  • Kason getting some more chub (as mentioned above)
  • His constant noises and babbling (he says "dada" all the time) of course doesn't know what he is saying yet. But Josh loves to ask him who his favorite person is, usually getting "dada" in response
  • He is trying all sorts of new foods and loves to eat
  • Kason usually plays, chats, rolls around in his crib for about 15-20 minutes after his nap
  • He continues to happily sit in his car seat at crossfit everyday so I can workout
  • His attempts to crawl, which usually look more like a bear crawl or a plank hold (a work in progress)
  • The sounds he makes when he is dead asleep
  • He still loves to cuddle
  • He grabs everything in sight, especially faces, hair and jewelry
  • He has become much more stable sitting up but still has his occasional bumps and falls

Our baby boy is six months old.  "Six months," has for sure been the hardest age to spit out when people ask me how old Kason is. I just can't believe that he is half way to being one!  He continues to bring joy into our lives everyday.  He is such a happy baby.  Some of the things I want to remember about this age...

  • More and more sounds, pitches, tones and noises coming from Kason
  • He has started to take much more of an interest in his toys
  • He wants anything we are eating or drinking
  • He is eating more baby food, which I have been making from fresh fruits and veggies (lots easier than I thought)
  • He still LOVES to snuggle
  • Kason continues to sit content in his infant seat as I go to crossfit each morning (he is pretty entertained by all that's going on around him)
  • He is a GREAT traveler
  • He laughs all the time (deep belly laughs)
  • He is a tummy sleeper and lately with his knees tucked under him
  • Makes his mom and dad smile every single day with his cute personality
  • His toes are his chew toys; no teeth yet
  • He is toying with the idea of crawling with his new moves

B.O.I.S.E.

Kason and I took our first trip to Boise without Dad.  The original plan included Josh, but Josh ended up having to stay behind to prep for a *Final* so we ventured out on our own.

*side note, Josh is now doing the Executive MBA program at USU.  As if work does not keep him busy enough, be ends his week with school on Friday nights and Saturdays.  I am grateful for how hard he works and appreciate all he does to still make time to spend with me and Kase.  He will be done with the program early Fall 2013.  He takes one course at a time for 6 weeks.  One down baby!  GOOD JOB!

Kason was a champ on the drive both to and from Boise, he slept 75% of the time each way.  We also had dry roads and no bad weather. WOO.HOO. good weather is rare in February.  We had a great time as we spent the week with the fam and friends, it always goes too fast.  However, we were excited to get back to Dad.

We got to go Brog's race and Kason had his first visit to a ski resort! One of many I am sure.  Grammy Richards already has plane to teach him to ski.

I got to see most of my girlfriends and Julz and I took a hike up to Table Rock.  Hiking in February??? Love it!

Laurie, Fred and the kids were in town so we also went bowling with the Richards Fam.
